This should never have happened. Using the hard shoulder as an 'extra' lane, as is now the policy amongst road planners, was a crass decision by someone. It was only a matter of time.
RIP you poor innocent Hammers.

Just caught some rumblings on Twitter that several Spurs groups are trying to arrange a minute's applause for the guys that died - what are your views on that?

Trying to put the information together from what has been posted on here and elsewhere is that the person who died on the M40 was West Ham and that the three lads who died on the M1 were know to a poster on here but weren't on the way to game
That could of course all be wrong but that's how I've understood it

I take this a bit more personally because they were (or could have been) West Ham fans.
That doesn't mean it's a worse tragedy because they were West Ham fans.
I also take it a bit more personally because just over a fortnight ago I was in a similar situation - car broken down in shit weather on a motorway hard shoulder - the temptation to sit in the car was enormous.
